As Director of Words at Chapel FM Arts Centre in East Leeds, I’ve organised and coordinated numerous radio programmes on a regular basis, as well five iterations of Writing On Air, a 4 day on-air literature festival that has grown exponentially every year to become a well-respected landmark in the West Yorkshire literature calendar . In my role as Writer in Residence at The Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds, I initiated and organised several choir festivals in which singing emsembles from all over the region sang throughout the museum. I also organised a festival of literature at the museum called Words at War, about the role of language in the provocation, and resolution, of world conflicts.

More recently I originated a poetry collaboration between myself, a Leeds poet, with Ralf Thenior, a poet in our twin city of Dortmund. This dialogue, funded by Leeds 2023, led on to an arts festival entitled Leeds/Dortmund 50, a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the twinning of the two cities, comprising 25 events in the autumn of 2019.
